Team GB medics save Uzbekistan boxing trainer's life In a remarkable display of sportsmanship and humanity at the Tokyo Olympics, a team of British medics stepped in to save the life of Uzbekistan boxing coach Tulkin Kilichev. Kilichev had just witnessed his athlete win a gold medal when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. The incident took place during the boxing competition at the Tokyo Games. The atmosphere was filled with jubilation as Uzbekistan's Bektemir Melikuziev secured the gold medal in the 75kg category. However, the celebration quickly turned into panic as Kilichev collapsed and stopped breathing. Fortunately, the quick response from the Team GB medical staff played a crucial role in saving Kilichev's life. The British medics, who were present ringside, rushed to his aid immediately. They administered CPR and used a defibrillator to revive him. Andrew Meade, a doctor with the British boxing squad, explained the situation and praised the actions of his team. He said, "We were extremely fortunate that our team was present and able to provide immediate medical assistance. Time is of the essence in situations like this, and the swift intervention by our medics was crucial." Meade further stated that the team had undergone extensive training in emergency medical procedures and were well-prepared for such situations.
